If you think the new videos are decent or in any way comparable to the old ones you are just showing that you are new to watching J&A videos. The old skits were much better, and didn't feel forced at all. These past ones have just felt forced with Amir being overtly stupid and it not even being believable. In the past, Amir would do something dumb, but it wouldn't be scripted at all (for example, his coin falling routine or my favorite, during the NCAA skit) .
Perhaps, instead of dissing everyone who says the new videos aren't any good, you should think about the fact that since we are all here commenting that we are all fans, and thus, only want to see quality stuff, instead of telling dissenters to go and kill themselves of course. Besides, nillaguerilla gave a fairly structured sentiment regarding the videos. It's his opinion (or hers) and they are entitled to it. I'm sure Jake and Amir like seeing constructive criticism and comments as opposed to "go fuck yourself ass" or stuff like that.

I think comedy is one of the hardest things to do, one of the hardest things to write without sounding or seeming forced. While it is true the "newer" videos had a period over a few weeks were the characters were relying on argument or insults instead of genuine emotions (like Jake's conflict of hate for Amir and his want to make sure he ends up OK) or even the small gags that were organic (like the ten dollars of change Amir carries at all times, or even Pat's improvised phone conversations), they have developed back into their past rhythm. While I agree with johnjohn, I'm certain the constructive criticism is better than destructive cynicism like nillaGuerilla's second comment. As a comedy writer, however, I must say it takes an immense amount of talent to have written the large amount of Jake And Amir sketches, added to the Hardly Workings at CollegeHumor. I have a large amount of respect for Jake, Amir and the other writers at CH.com. As Amir has said in an interview, no matter how funny your jokes are, eventually you'll come back to them and see they're lesser than your newer stuff. There will always be the old "classics" but the newer ones will seem funnier as the genre of J&A develops, as story lines compact, as Jake and Amir grow as writers and as people.

I think probably CHTV called them up since jakeandamir.com was featured as one of PC Magazines 100 top sites you should know about. In the little blurp in the article, it said that their JakeandAmir videos were better than the videos they did at CHTV. so I assume the head honchos told them to start releasing the JnA stuff on CHTV. ** maybe got bonuses out of it. dunno**
